Located on the south-west of Germany, Lahr is known as the second largest city after Offenburg in the region. Lahr, one of the most crowded cities in the region with its population approaching 45 thousand people, is also 40 kilometers away from the city of Strasbourg, France.
The city, which is situated in the west of the Black Forest, has generally a cool climate that is not very hot the entire year. Temperatures are 1-2 degrees in winter and 17-18 degrees on average in summer. The temperature may partly vary between high and low parts of the area.
