About Egilsstadir
Egilsstaðir is located on the banks of the Lagarfljót River in the east of Iceland. Additionally, Egilsstaðir is the biggest city in the Eastern region and has a population of approximately 2260 people according to the data of 2011. Being incredibly young, the city is one of the places with a tendency for urbanization in the European continent. The city was established in 1947 and named after the Egilsstaðir Farm in the vicinity of the bridge in Lagarfljót.
