There are different options to reach the airport from the city center in Cairo, visited by many tourists every year. The services that the hotels usually offer or arrange for you and public transport are the first ones that come to mind.

Airport Transfer

Transfer vehicles that are privately rented from Cairo International Airport and shuttles of the Cairo Airport Shuttle Bus company will pick you up at your requested destination upon your telephone and internet reservation. You can reach the airport from any point of the city by using the shuttles, whose fares are changing according to the region you take it.  

Airport transfers also include London-style taxis, limousines and luxurious midibuses. All you have to do is to make reservations and be at the place where you want the cars to pick you up.

Public Transport

It will be possible to reach the airport with the subway lines passing through Zamalek, Wasat Al-Balad and the Nile's eastern region, which we refer to as the center of Cairo, in a few years, but you can only reach the areas close by at the moment. Al Dock, Opera, Sedat (Tahrir) and Naguib are the metro stations close to the center.

You need to transfer to the Green Line at Attaba station from Yellow Line, which hosts the above mentioned stations.

Even if it does not reach the airport yet, you can get off at the Abbasiye station and complete the 15 kilometers distance by taxi or bus number 111. It is also possible to reach the airport by buses 27, 111, 356 from Tahrir Square where Sedat metro station is located.

Private Vehicle

Although it is a great merit to use private vehicles in Cairo, which is similar to Istanbul with regards to its traffic and size, there may be people who want to reach the airport by private vehicles. To do this, you have to follow the Oroba road, in the east direction, to go to the airport from Zamalek island and Tahrir in the city center.

Oroba route will take you to Airport Road, which will provide you with access to the airport, after 17 kilometers.

The airport, in the Heliopolis area, is the second airport in Africa with regards to passenger traffic. With the completion of the newly constructed terminals, there are also many possibilities offered for those waiting for their flight.

Japanese, Chinese and Korean restaurants representing the Asian lifestyle, world famous fast-food restaurants, coffee shops where you can drink the most famous coffees of the world and pizzerias are waiting for guests at Terminal 1. You can also access health services at the airport, which has a large duty free store.

Taxi

The city centre can be reached easily by taxis you can take from the front of Pacific Harbour Airport terminal. We recommend that you find out how much the journey will cost before you start the journey. The payment is possible in both Fiji and US dollars.

Bus

There are different options in terms of departure times and ticket prices for the buses that regularly operate between Pacific Harbor Airport and the city centre.

To take the express bus to the city centre you need to wait at the bus stop in front of the airport terminal.  The bus departure timetable is posted on a sign outside the ticket purchasing area.

The other option to get to the city centre is taking one of the local buses. Even though they are very slow and stop numerous times on the way, this is the most economic transport option.

The 12 person minivans that pick up passengers from just outside the airport terminal are fast but not safe. These vehicles operate illegally and your insurance may not cover you in the case of any accident or injury.   

Car Rental

You can reserve a car online before your arrival to get from Pacific Harbour Airport to the city centre. It's possible to pick it up from the airport and leave it at the same place at the end of your trip. AVIS, Hertz, Budget, Thrifty, Dollar, and Enterprise are the established agencies that offer car rentals and you can find one that suits your criteria from these agencies.

Hotel Transfer
