There are different options to reach the airport from the city center in Cairo, visited by many tourists every year. The services that the hotels usually offer or arrange for you and public transport are the first ones that come to mind.

Airport Transfer

Public Transport

It will be possible to reach the airport with the subway lines passing through Zamalek, Wasat Al-Balad and the Nile's eastern region, which we refer to as the center of Cairo, in a few years, but you can only reach the areas close by at the moment. Al Dock, Opera, Sedat (Tahrir) and Naguib are the metro stations close to the center.

You need to transfer to the Green Line at Attaba station from Yellow Line, which hosts the above mentioned stations.

Even if it does not reach the airport yet, you can get off at the Abbasiye station and complete the 15 kilometers distance by taxi or bus number 111. It is also possible to reach the airport by buses 27, 111, 356 from Tahrir Square where Sedat metro station is located.

Private Vehicle

Although it is a great merit to use private vehicles in Cairo, which is similar to Istanbul with regards to its traffic and size, there may be people who want to reach the airport by private vehicles. To do this, you have to follow the Oroba road, in the east direction, to go to the airport from Zamalek island and Tahrir in the city center.

Oroba route will take you to Airport Road, which will provide you with access to the airport, after 17 kilometers.

The airport, in the Heliopolis area, is the second airport in Africa with regards to passenger traffic. With the completion of the newly constructed terminals, there are also many possibilities offered for those waiting for their flight.

Japanese, Chinese and Korean restaurants representing the Asian lifestyle, world famous fast-food restaurants, coffee shops where you can drink the most famous coffees of the world and pizzerias are waiting for guests at Terminal 1. You can also access health services at the airport, which has a large duty free store.

There are a few options that you can use for travelling to the city center from Nassau Airport. Taxi is the most commonly used transportation alternative between these two points. Shuttles and rental cars are also important in the transportation to the city center from the airport.

For travelling to the city center, you can use the taxis waiting in front of the terminal building for 24 hours. The taxis in Nassau apply fixed tariff for certain regions. For this reason, you can get information about the average fare before getting on any taxi.

Since there are a few transportation alternatives at the airport, you can get in contact with one of the shuttle companies offering service in the city and arrange a vehicle for yourself. If you are travelling as a crowded group, this is one of the most ideal options. You can also travel as one person by arranging a vehicle with a driver. You can get in contact with A-1, Big Al’s, Black Car, Chosen, Dan Knowles, Majestic or Leisure in order to benefit from this service. Reaching the city center by using a shuttle can last about 20 minutes.

If you want to rent a car for travelling to Nassau city center, the capital of Bahamas having a natural beauty, you can visit one of the car rental companies offering service at the airport. Avis, Budget, Dollar, Thrifty and Hertz are among these companies and they offer service for 24 hours.
