Bursa, which is one of the biggest industrial cities in Turkey, is a city that offers alternatives in transportation. Yenişehir Airport in the city serves for airport transportation. At the airport, there are connecting flights to other cities of Turkey through Ankara.

In addition, urban transportation is provided by Bursaray and Burtram rail systems operated by BURULAŞ and other public transportation vehicles like buses; you can go to nearby cities such as Istanbul by taking the advantage of sea bus, seaplane and helitaxi. Bus

You can take the bus number 80 which departs from Bursa city center and follows a route through Ankara highway. The departure times of this bus line are not so frequent. You can also get to the airport by boarding a minibus departing from Bursa Doğu Garajı (East Terminal).

Airport Information

Bursa Yenişehir Airport, which is 50 kilometers from the city center, was firstly opened as a military airport in Yunuseli neighborhood and then, the airport served for cargo planes. The airport has been opened to civil air traffic in 2001.

At the airport, it is possible to fly to Ankara as well as you can reach other cities of Turkey through Ankara. International flights are also arranged at the airport to get to Dusseldorf (Germany), Kuwait and Nicosia (Cyprus). The airport, which was built on 5.600-squaremeter area, has a capacity of 2 million 250 thousand passengers.  

You can reach the city center in about half an hour by renting a car from one of the car rental companies offering service at Lankaran Airport or getting on a taxi in front of the arrivals terminal. There aren’t shuttles at the airport. In addition, there is no means of public transportation going to the city center.

Car Rental

There are many car rental companies offering service at the airport. If you want to have a comfortable transportation vehicle that you can use during your travel, renting a car may be the best option. You can reach the city center in about half an hour by driving on the highway R48. The average daily cost of renting a standard car is about 50 dollars.

Taxi

Taxis offering service at Lankaran Airport are purple and for five passengers. There is a taximeter device in all taxis and the cost of travelling to the city center from the airport is about 20-25 dollars.
