Bursa Yenişehir Airport, which is 50 kilometers from the city center, was firstly opened as a military airport in Yunuseli neighborhood and then, the airport served for cargo planes. The airport has been opened to civil air traffic in 2001.

International flights are also arranged at the airport to get to Dusseldorf (Germany), Kuwait and Nicosia (Cyprus). Located within the borders of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Gecitkale Airport is only 2.4 km away to the city centre. Therefore, you can either take a taxi or rent a car to get to the city centre from this airport.

Since there is only a short distance (2.4 km) between Gecitkale Airport and the city centre, there is no public transportation option for the passengers. Therefore, you can get to the city centre by taking a taxi in a quick and comfortable way.

Renting a Car

Due to the fact that Gecitkale Airport is very close to the city centre, renting a car might be a little bit expensive. However, if you plan to stay in the city for a long period, you can use the car you rent in the airport during the whole journey there.
