Located in the west of Russia, Bryansk is a very nice city situated along the Desna River, in a region that is close to the European border. The city was an important manufacturing and industrial center throughout history; iron and steel are among the important industrial products. Bryansk is a great city to live in thanks to its large green areas surrounding the city and its lush parks. Climate conditions in Bryansk are more favorable than many other regions in Russia.
The city is known for its vibrant nightlife and revue shows. Among must-see sites in the city are the Bryansk Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, Tkachev Brothers’ Museum, the Vladimir Church, and show centers that get especially busy in the evening. The city is convenient to visit almost any time of the year but the best time to visit would be in May and June. The low winter temperatures can make it a challenging visit during the winter. The city can be reached from any European cities and from Russia’s capital, Moscow.
There are not many alternatives for passengers to reach the city center from Bryansk International Airport. Taxi, naturally, is the most preferred means of transportation. You can get to the city center by taxi in half an hour. If you rent a car from the car rental companies having offices at the airport, you can also reach the city center driving through A240 motorway.
Some hotels offer their guests shuttle services providing transfer service between the airport and hotel. You can get in touch with your hotel in advance and take advantage of this service, if available. By the way, you can get to many places all around the city including the city center by bus; however, you need to take a taxi to reach the nearest bus stop.Last Updated: February 25, 2019
