Transportation from the City Center to the Airport:

The distance between the Aleppo Airport and the city center is short. However, since the airport is currently closed for commercial flights, you can use the closest airports to Aleppo, which are Hatay Airport and Gaziantep Airport. From these airports, you can rent a car and within 2-3 hours you can reach Aleppo city center. At Gaziantep Airport, there are seven car rental companies, both local and international and at Hatay Airport there are three local car rental companies. 

Also, some companies provide shuttle services to Aleppo from both airports; but lately, these companies have temporarily suspended their services.

Aleppo Airport has a history of almost 100 years and over the years, has been expanded and restored many times. The airport consists of 4 floors and it is located 7 kilometers from the city center. Aleppo Airport provides VIP Lounges, exchange offices, ATMs, a clinic, several shops, restaurants, duty-free, and a mosque. This airport is temporarily closed to commercial flights since 2011 and there is no clear date for its reopening.

For travelling to the city center from Luxor International Airport, taxi is among the commonly used transportation options. If you make a reservation in advance for a private airport transfer vehicle, you can also comfortably travel to the center from Luxor International Airport. Car rental options in the region are extremely limited. However, if you need a rental car to travel to Luxor and its nearby places, you can try to rent a car in advance by doing the necessary search in advance. The vehicles providing transportation to the center from Luxor International Airport generally accept payment in Egyptian Pound. However, you can also pay for taxis and other vehicles by using foreign currencies such as US Dollar if you do not have Egyptian Pound with you when you come to the city. It generally costs 50 Egyptian Pound to reach the center from Luxor International Airport. This amount can vary depending on the landing hour of your flight and your destination. If you will travel to West Bank from the airport, this amount can increase to 100 Egyptian Pound. Taxis and private shuttles are very convenient for passengers with heavy luggage.

Private Shuttle

Private shuttles are ideal for those who don’t want to lose time with finding a taxi at Luxor International Airport. When you get on a private shuttle at Luxor International Airport, you can comfortably and quickly travel to the center. Private shuttles are among the safe vehicles for the transfer between the airport and city center. If you are travelling as a crowded group, you can demand a larger vehicle and have a more affordable transportation to the center compared to taxis.

Car Rental

There are very limited options in terms of renting a car at Luxor International Airport. If you make a reservation in advance by contacting a local car rental company, they can arrange a car for you. You can receive the car after you have landed at the airport and take the road to the center.
